Explore Outdoors with Participatory Science

Have you ever wondered what birds and plants exist in your neighborhood? Join us on April 14th to celebrate Citizen Science Month at Walnut Creek Wetland Center! Learn how to use app-based participatory tools to explore and monitor your neighborhood's nature. This event will provide training to help you become confident in bird identification and monitoring, plant/tree identification, and field safety. This event will be held in the Walnut Creek Room at Walnut Creek Wetland Center. Expect a combination of indoor and outdoor activities. Light breakfast snacks will be provided. Check-in and breakfast are from 8:30- 8:45. Please wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. The site contains a combination of dirt and paved trailways. Trail conditions may be muddy after a rainy day.
